Roadtrippin’ with the pup? You’re not alone. If you’re planning on visiting Halifax with your four-legged pal, here are some great places to take your furry travel buddy:
1. The Stillwell Beer Garden
There aren’t many things better than enjoying a cold beer on a patio…except enjoying a cold one on a patio where dogs are invited!
Keep in mind that this space is open seasonally and is dependent on weather. Check their website to make sure they are open before you head out.

2 – White Point Beach Resort
Luckily for us pet owners, many hotels are now pet-friendly. If you’re looking for a place that encourages doggy beach vacations, head to White Point.
Just 45 minutes outside of Halifax, White Point knows your dog is going to love their resort. They’ve even designed a ‘Fur the Beach’ package that includes a pet friendly room and a bag of locally made dog treats for your pal.

3 – Shubie Park
Shubie Park is a wilderness gem in the city. With off-leash and on-leash areas, it’s beautiful for two-legged and four-legged visitors alike. Swim, walk and stop at the canteen for an ice cream.
It’s pretty much the perfect afternoon.

4 – Walk the Halifax Waterfront
There are lots of great places to take your pet for a walk in Halifax. One of our favourites is the Halifax waterfront.
The wood is easier on your pet’s paws than cement and the sea breezes are fresh and cool, and there are plenty of businesses that have a water dish outside if your dog gets thirsty.

5 – Good Robot Brewing Company
This one is next level. Not only does this North End craft brewery have an AstroTurf patio that welcomes your furry friends, they have full-on dog-devoted events!
That’s right, Good Robot Brewing Co. has hosted events for dog owners to bring their dogs to enjoy a grooming station, beer-flavoured dog treats, and PLENTY of delicious craft brews for the owners!
