Steve Snider commended for success of International Cable Supported Bridge Operators’ Conference

Wednesday, June 29, 2016 – 10:15 – Steve Snider has received a Destination Halifax Ambassador Award for his contributions to the 2016 International Cable Supported Bridge Operators’ Conference.

“You would think the logistics of re-decking Halifax’s Macdonald Bridge while it remains open for daily crossings (only the second time a project of this nature has been done), would be enough of a challenge for most of us, but not for Steve Snider, GM & CEO of the Halifax Harbour Bridges Corporation,” said Jeff Turner, New Business Development Manager, Sales, Destination Halifax. “In addition, he was able to host the 9th International Cable Supported Bridge Operators’ conference.”

The conference took place at The Westin Nova Scotian from June 19 to June 22, 2016, attracting 180+ delegates from fifteen countries, including USA, Japan, Sweden, Norway, Israel, Korea etc. Delegates met in Halifax to learn about and discuss new and trending topics regarding the building, maintenance and operation of cable supported bridges.

ICSBOC was formed in 2007. Its aim is to stimulate discussion and debate for those responsible for large cable supported bridges.

The Ambassador Program is an alliance of individuals and organizations who achieve economic growth for the Halifax region through the promotion of Halifax as a premier meetings and conventions destination. The program has been led by Destination Halifax since 2002.
