OPEN MIC Nights in Halifax!

Halifax’s music scene is eclectic and inclusive. From traditional ceilidhs to contemporary shows, Halifax has something for every music lover. So while you’re here, why not share some music of your own? Open mic nights abound in this city. Check out the suggestions below.

  • If you’re looking for student open mic, head over to the Grad House at Dalhousie University every Thursday night. This open mic is only around during the school year, so rest your pipes and prepare: it’s almost September!
  • The Westin Nova Scotian Hotel on Hollis Street has a neat setup with their open mic: each week one performer is selected for a paid gig the following week. And while you’re at the Westin, why not stop into Yuk Yuk’s Comedy for their open mic night, every Wednesday at 8 pm!
  • At Rockbottom Brewpub on Spring Garden Road, there’s more than just an enviable tap list. There’s also an open mic every Thursday night, starting at 9:30 pm! Thursday is also Wing Night, so you can fill your belly after you sing your heart out.
