Located in Musquodoboit Valley, less than an hour’s drive from Halifax, the Nature Learning and Play Space is the perfect place for kids to connect with nature and have fun.
Unlike playgrounds built out of plastic and metal, a Nature Learning and Play Space uses trees, plants, water and rocks to create a place where kids can enjoy healthy activity and learn to appreciate their environment.
The play space is open seven days a week, from 8:00 am to dusk, and is free of charge. Parents are reminded that the space is not supervised and they are responsible for their children at all times.
Daily Availability: | Sunday - Saturday |
Meetup Location | The Nature Learning and Play Space is located on the woodland behind the Natural Resources Education Centre (NREC). The Centre’s address is 12014 Hwy 224, Middle Musquodoboit, Nova Scotia, B0N 1X0. |
Hours | 8:00 am to dusk |
Restrooms | The play space does not have washrooms with running water, however; there is an outhouse on site. |
Parking | When you arrive, drive up the hill on the gravel road, past the NREC and the elementary school. There is a small parking area at the entrance to the play space. |
What to Bring | Visitors should pack water and snacks, extra clothing, shoes and towels; sunscreen and bug spray as needed. |
