Looking for something to do in Halifax that will be fun for the whole family? Maybe you need an activity that’ll help the kids burn a little excess energy? We’re here to help!
We’ve listed 5 of the BEST family-friendly activities in the Halifax region, that’ll keep the whole family entertained:
1. Burn a little excess energy at Get Air Trampoline Park
612 Windmill Road – Dartmouth
A favourite family activity in Halifax is Get Air Trampoline Park. It’s a super fun way to get plenty of exercise (or burn off some energy!) – especially when it may be too cold to be outside for long!
This massive facility features wall-to-wall trampolines, foam pits, dodge ball! You can try your luck on the slack line or challenge yourself on the ninja course!
Admission & hours of operation can be found HERE.
2. Head to Seven Bays Bouldering for an afternoon of rock climbing
2019 Gottingen St. – North End Halifax
Older kids and teens might enjoy an afternoon at Halifax’s 6000 square-foot bouldering gym, Seven Bays Bouldering. In addition to their gym, Seven Bays has a coffee shop, which serves coffee, smoothies and light fare.
Bouldering is a form of rock climbing performed without ropes or harnesses. It’s safe because the walls aren’t very high and climbers can follow routes across the wall instead of up it.
Teens 14 and older can climb without an adult and rent climbing shoes if they need them. Children under 14 are welcome but they must be accompanied and closely supervised by an adult.
3. Check out the Discovery Centre!
1215 Lower Water St. – Downtown Halifax
The new Discovery Centre location has twice as much space as its previous home on Barrington Street and amazing interactive learning experiences, including four galleries, an open atrium, an Innovation Lab, a Featured Exhibits Gallery and the first Immersive Dome Theatre in the region!
The only challenge you’ll have will be getting kids to leave the science centre at the end of the day!
Find hours of operation and admission prices HERE.
4. Visit the Halifax Central Library
5440 Spring Garden Rd. – Downtown Halifax
All of the Halifax Regional Libraries have fantastic programs for kids and teens, but hanging out at the stunning Central Library is an event in itself.
The Halifax Central Library has a media room that visitors can reserve and record songs or podcasts, as well as LOADS of books, games, computers and a terrace and cafe with an amazing rooftop view of the city.

Scotiabank Centre – Downtown Halifax
