Discover Halifax’s hoppiest hot spots, where locally-crafted beer varies from intense IPAs to full-bodied stouts, crisp Belgian brews, and experimental ales, all crafted with an array of delicious, and often locally-sourced ingredients.
The craft beer trend is strong in Halifax and there’s no better way to taste those local brews than at the brewery, directly from the source.
Without further ado, enjoy a selection of some of the best craft breweries in the Halifax region:
2736 Robie St, Halifax
Good Robot Brewing Company makes craft brews that are “eccentric, experimental and untrue to style.” Like many of the breweries in Halifax, they are located in the North End, and have a great outdoor space and very welcoming taproom. Stop in and enjoy a drink, a snack, and whatever awesome event is happening at Good Robot on the given day. Visitors can also take a brewery tour or purchase growlers at their retail store.
Did you know: Good Robot’s beers are vegan, and a majority of them are “gluten-reduced,” meaning many of their beers qualify as <20 ppm gluten, the international standard of gluten-free, however, they can’t call their beers gluten-free because they are made with cereal products. Learn more here.
