1. See Halifax as you’ve never seen it before

When we say that the streets transform at night, we mean it!

This event showcases TONS of artists’ work, lighting up the streets of Halifax and Dartmouth for an evening of wonder and magic.

Attendees may see the Halifax Public Gardens become a jungle of LED lights, or experience the Harbour Ferry as a high-energy rock stage. And don’t be surprised if you witness an ordinary parking lot-turned concrete playground – anything is possible during Nocturne!

2. Come for the art, stay for the deals

If you’re thinking that Nocturne is just about admiring amazing art, allow us to set the record straight. Many local businesses stay open much later than usual, offering discounts and surprise treats to all that stop by.

Warm up with a late-night hot chocolate or grab a snack, and stroll the art-filled streets for a cozy cultural experience!

3. Bring Nocturne home with you

It’s no joke when we say that everyone loves Nocturne. Many installations around Halifax will offer pieces you can take home, like Inkwell and Letterpress Gang. Be sure to leave some room in your bag when you head out to explore the exhibits.

To enhance your Nocturne experience, pick up a can (or more!) of Propeller Brewing Company‘s exclusive Nocturne Black IPA – who knew that beer and art would make sunch an excelent pair!

4. Get interactive with art

One of the coolest parts about Nocturne is the interactive aspect of many of the art installations.

Experience virtual reality that will leave you entranced by your findings, climb artistic sculptures and get that PERFECT Instagram shot, or even sing your heart out on the Halifax Ferry’s “Ferry-Oke”!
